"You have a grand gift of silence, Watson,' said he. 'It makes you quite invaluable as a companion. 'Pon my word, it is a great thing for me to have someone to talk to, for my own thoughts are not over-pleasant." --Sherlock Holmes to Dr. Watson, "The Man With the Twisted Lip."
Several months have passed since I've posted anything here about Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson or Arthur Conan Doyle. I had hoped to return this month with some new thoughts and a new sense of direction for this little obsession of mine but I'm afraid I've found myself with too many thoughts that are not "over-pleasant." The events in the world around me have left me feeling uncertain and hesitant to the point of near inertia. Sherlock Holmes may have found it valuable to have someone to talk at the times of unpleasant thoughts, but silence coupled with stillness seems to be the answer for me for now.
Therefore, the Doting on Doyle hiatus continues. In the meanwhile, here are some lovely books you might consider~~~ Available at Belanger Books & Amazon
