The Secrets of Private Families is a collection of eight Sherlock
Holmes and Dr. Watson adventures, seven of which Holmes deemed
unpublishable. Too raw to put before the public, and hardly our best behaviour, he wrote to Watson when questioned upon the matter.
Are they really?
Readers of traditional Holmes stories might certainly disagree with him!
These adventures are a rich sampling of the kind of stories Watson
described in the opening of “The Problem of Thor Bridge”:
“… there are some which involve the secrets of private families to an extent which would mean consternation in many exalted quarters if it were thought possible that they might find their way into print.”
Come
along as Holmes and Watson navigate the complexities of these private
